Since a proper mix design is the key to a fine application and in-field performance of Micro-surfacing and other cold-mix techniques, the investigation starts from assessment of quality of aggregates by Methylene Blue value, Sand Equivalency test and gradation and goes on to mix design with tailor made bitumen emulsions and finally testing of mix properties including mix time, mix consistency, wet cohesion, wet track abrasion test, stripping value by boiling water test etc.
